July 28, 2009

This week is the kick off of wedding mania for the studio.  I'll still be doing some senior and family shoots, but during August, I will be crazy-busy with weddings and you'll get to see a few on my blog. But, before we get to those, lets take a look at a shoot I did last week before heading out of town for the weekend.  I got together with Tanner for a quick senior session and, like most senior guys, he was pretty relaxed, so it was a laid back.  Inside, we did some nice headshots for his mom and dad (and the yearbook, I guess) and then headed outside to the football field.  Even though it was very sunny, we got some great pictures.

July 24, 2009

Wow, have we been busy at J Kuhn Photography lately.  I think everyone is realizing summer is almost over--not fair, I know--and are trying to get everything taken care of.  While August is shaping up to be my busiest month, July has been keeping me on my toes also.  I'm so thankful for all of my clients and hope you all love your pictures.  Here are two seniors I worked with earlier this week.

Michaela
Everyone who knows Michaela knows she has a great smile.  What they might not know, is she must not have a free minute in her life.  She plays 3 sports, is in pep band and has a job.  When does this girl sleep???  For her shoot, we started at the golf course to highlight her passion for golf.  I have to admit, I'm a little jealous because I would love to have her skill at golf.  After that, we headed to a few other spots outside and finished up with a few indoor photos.  Here are a few of my favs.

Jordan
After Michaela, I switched gears for Jordan's session.  He loves the bass, so I made sure to show it off in his photos.  In fact, the first one posed is in the running for my all time favorite photo for the summer.

July 16, 2009

After enjoying a beautiful weekend in my perfect small town surrounded by lakes and trees and hills and friendly people and my family...I'm back to work.  Luckily, I love what I do, so it's not really so bad.  I got to hang out with Carla and PJ on Tuesday morning to take a few pictures and talk about their upcoming wedding.  I'm so excited for their big day.  It'll be my favorite kind of wedding: casual and all about the bride and groom and their family and friends.  So, given their relaxed attitude, we just did a quick session and called it good.

Later that day, I got to hang out with Carter.  This is the 3rd year I've taken Carter's pictures and am feel lucky to get to hang out with him and his family every year.  He still seems like the same crazy 2 year old I first met who wouldn't stop moving for even a minute.  Now I can get him to sit still, but he hasn't lost his huge smile and infectious giggle he had 2 years ago.

I finally got a break at the end of the day with Levi.  Levi is an adorable 3 month old who has all those cute baby qualities: bald head and cubby cheeks and big eyes.  He was in a great mood the whole time and even posed for a few pictures with his favorite little puppy.

Derek & Stacy

Derek & Stacy sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.  On Tuesday night, Derek and Stacy made the trip down from Grand Forks to have their engagement pictures taken.  Stacy and I had out eye on the weather all day, because they kept predicting rain and they wanted outdoor pictures.  You can't blame them, they are planning on going whitewater rafting on their honeymoon!  As you can see, the rain held off-mostly-and we got to take some great pictures.  They where surprisingly cooperative since Stacy announced that she didn't like pictures before we started.  I had a lot of fun with them and can't wait for their wedding in Grand Forks at the end of the month.

Tyler

Tuesday was a busy day for me.  I had a few sessions to proof and upload from the weekend, emails and calls to return, and other general office things to attend to.  Luckily, I got to break up all the office work with an hour with Tyler to take his senior pictures.  He certainly kept me on my toes during the shoot with ideas of his own and kept me laughing at his jokes and comments. He also has great taste in footwear.  I loved his shoes, so I had to feature them in a photo!  Bet he didn't expect to have his feet as the center of attention!
